László Mátyus, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Debrecen, has been appointed for another four years to lead the Professional Committee of the National Council of Scientific Students (OTDT) for Medicine and Health Sciences. The professor received his presidential credentials at the OTDT meeting on Tuesday.
The Medical and Health Sciences Professional Committee is responsible for coordinating and professionally guiding the activities of scientific student circles in the field of medicine and health sciences. László Mátyus, Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine, is now starting his fourth four-year term as chairman of the committee.
- In my opinion, the scientific student circle is the highest level of talent management and the most important tool. I am convinced that those who have become familiar with the methodology of scientific research and have mastered the critical evaluation and interpretation of data become much better professionals in any field of life," emphasized László Mátyus.
The scientific student circle has always been an integral part of the professor's professional career, which he joined as a student with his research at the Institute of Biophysics and Cell Biology of the University of Debrecen. Later he became the student president and teaching secretary of the Scientific Student Council of the Faculty of General Medicine, and in 2010 he became its president. In 2011 he was elected president of the Medical and Health Sciences Professional Committee of the National Scientific Student Council, and from 2021 he will also hold the position of vice-president of the OTDT responsible for life sciences.
